pushing through the pandemic with grace

This family has been through so much this past year, running two amazing restaurants during a pandemic.  Mia and I met when she was pregnant with middle sister Beatrice and I photographed her maternity and newborn session.  Since then we've become good friends, and if there were one word I could use to describe her, it would be 'gracious'.  She is always calm, serene, loving, and thoughtful, and she has maintained that strength even through some seriously challenging times. 

When I look at this session, I don't see the stress and heartache I know they must have felt throughout the past year.  I see a family filled with love, humor, and such a strong sense of togetherness. I see kids whose memories of the pandemic will be that while it was a stressful time, their parents made them feel safe and secure. I see a family who will look back at these images and know that love pulled them through. I'm so honored to call them my friends.
